street team
want to learn more about the promotion side of shows and help the SLC music scene grow? or start building a design portfolio? or get some practice writing album reviews / interviews / newsletters? because if so, joining the street team might be the move! below are some projects we have been working on lately
the zine
we print a quarterly hardcore zine, entirely created, compiled, designed, printed, and assembled by members of the street team. the first volume contained interviews, a crossword, comics, albums of the year, and political passages (with included recommended reading!)
fliers
from designing to distribution, the street team helps create fliers and share them with the world! although i cannot teach you design, i can give you an opportunity to create and practice. you are always welcome to use what you create for portfolios, homework assignments, or resumes. at almost every meeting everyone gets fliers to distribute around the community- whether you want to help us find new places to put them or just go off of the pre-made list, getting them out in the world helps grow the scene!
local compilation CD
every year we will be compiling and releasing a CD for the SLC music scene! any genres, any bands / artists. from gathering submissions to helping sell them at shows, this project was such a hit that we sold out at the release show! (100 copies!) this will happen near the end of summer, and is spearheaded by zoey.

there are plenty of other potential projects we can do! (and not all require physical presence - some can be done entirely remotely) whether you want to write a newsletter, create content, help get events shared online, run a calendar, help editing/copywriting, or even manage social media, whatever you can dream up, we can consider implementing! and again, these projects can be used for school, portfolios, and work references! my goal is to help empower people to create, and to try new things.
beyond that, we do have a points system where you can earn rewards for helping out too!
